Bob is running for State Assembly in 2010

      Dear Fellow Democrat,
 

      Thank you for visiting my website. As you know, on May 21st I announced my candidacy for the 20th District Assembly seat. I have chosen to run because we must send someone to Sacramento who is not only qualified, but eager to tackle the critical problems facing our state. California's deficit has ballooned to over $24 billion and as Governor Schwarzenegger has said, we are in a "state of crisis". Today, leadership in government is more important than ever. It is vital that California re-emerge as the leader in technological innovation and job development, but that does not mean that we should forsake our needy and impoverished. Government can change lives and I want to be a part of that change. As your Assemblyperson, I will work each and every day to do what I can to repair California's budget problems and salvage the assistance programs that make this state great. Let's keep the California dream alive!

Bob would like to recognize three outstanding students: Oscar Rivera, Kelsey Stoeppel and William A. Dewlaney!

On Wednesday June 3, at a ceremony held at JFK High School, Bob proudly bestowed the title of Wieckowski Family Scholar for the year 2009 to three JFK Seniors; Oscar Rivera, Kelsey Stoeppel and William A. Dewlaney. Each scholar was awarded $1,500 to cover the first year costs of books and materials at college. Wieckowski scholars possess high academic achievement as well as athletic ability and sportsmanship during their attendance at John F. Kennedy High School. Scholars also exemplify well roundedness in their education and a commitment to community involvement following their university education. Congratulations 2009 Wieckowski Family Scholars!
